One of the most essential, but also potentially priciest gaming accessories out there is the gaming headset. A good gaming headset is essential for everything from horror games to online multiplayer shooters, and everything else in between. So, you obviously want quite a good one.
However, truly good ones can end up being extremely pricey. In this article, we are going to try and show you that you can find some inexpensive gaming headsets out there that are still very good. If you want to know what we consider to be the best gaming headset under 100 dollars, it is the Razer Kraken X Ultralight Gaming Headset.
A Spotlight On Some of The Best Gaming Headset Under $100 in 2022:
Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 Wireless Gaming Headset
To start off our best gaming headset under 100 list, we are going to sort of straddle the line of our chosen price threshold by reviewing a gaming headset that costs just about $100. We are referring to the Turtle Beach Stealth 600.
Now, Turtle Beach is a pretty well-known brand when it comes to gaming headsets and gaming audio equipment in general, so it is not surprising that they have made yet another really good headset. This is such a great headset because it manages to combine everything that you want in a gaming headset into a single package, including comfort, audio quality, and more.
As one would expect from a Turtle Beach headset, this headset has just about everything that you could ask for. The audio quality coming from the headset itself is absolutely fantastic and it helps to make more atmospheric games even better.
Secondly, the headset is extremely comfortable, with lots of padding, it is able to easily stay on your ears for hours without any soreness. Finally, the built-in microphone quality is just as high as the quality of the rest of the headset. In terms of pure quality and performance, this is a nearly flawless gaming headset.
There are two issues when it comes to the Stealth 600. First off, as we mentioned way back at the start of the review, this Turtle Beach headset is definitely on the pricier side of things.
In fact, it sits right on our price threshold of $100, so it is easily the priciest option on our short little review list.
The second issue has to do with the headset’s compatibility. While this headset can be used with a wide variety of gaming setups, it is primarily intended to work with Sony PlayStation consoles, so some compatibility issues might crop up.
- Works best with PlayStation.
- Right at our price threshold.
Razer Kraken X Ultralight Gaming Headset
To follow up that review of the Turtle Beach, we want to take a look at another really high-quality gaming headset, but also one that is noticeably cheaper than the other headset than the Turtle Beach headset that we just reviewed. If you are looking for a good headset at a very reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with the Razer Kraken X.
As with every other headset that we have reviewed on this list, we place a huge emphasis on the comfort that the headset offers. Thankfully, the Kraken X is really well-equipped in this regard.
It has lots of padding around the ears and around the top of the head, which is great for helping to feel more comfortable when playing. Do you know how with some headsets you can’t wait to take them off because they are just that uncomfortable? Well, that isn’t a problem with this Razer headset. Wearing this headset consistently for hours at a time produces no negative effects whatsoever.
In terms of audio quality, we can’t imagine any of you out there being disappointed with what this headset has to offer. While we can’t say for sure if it is exactly on par with the Turtle Beach headset that we reviewed earlier, it is definitely close to it.
The audio quality becomes even more impressive when you remember that this isn’t a particularly expensive headset either; it only costs around $50, which isn’t that bad for a high-quality gaming headset.
We have a small, and we do mean small, issue with the Razer Kraken X, it would have to be the fact that the microphone is a bit stiff for our liking. We would have definitely liked for it to be a bit easier to maneuver around. However, as we just said, this is an extremely small problem and it is hard to really hold it against an otherwise great gaming headset.
- Price is good when you consider the quality of the headset.
- Very comfortable headset.
- Can be worn easily for long periods of time.
- Mixture of good mic and general audio quality.
- Microphone could be a bit more maneuverable.
GIZORI Gaming Headset
For the last gaming headset on this list, we want to take a look at what is easily the cheapest gaming headset on this entire review list (as short as it is).
Given that the explicit theme of this review list is to find gaming headsets that are inexpensive (under $100), we figured that we should have at least one super inexpensive headset option to go along with our slightly pricier options (like the Turtle Beach and Razer). The particular inexpensive option that we decided to go with was the GIZORI Gaming Headset.
Let’s start off by talking about exactly how inexpensive this particular headset is. The answer is extremely. At under $20, this is an extremely inexpensive headset option. If you want a decent gaming headset that you can get without spending too much money, then you really can’t go wrong with the GIZORI Gaming Headset.
Now, in terms of quality, the headset is surprisingly good for such an extremely cheap, $20 headset. Is it on par with some other decent, more expensive headsets. Can it compete with the absolute best of the best gaming headsets? No, but given the price of the headset, one could hardly expect that.
So, in our opinion, it wouldn’t be fair to hold that against the GIZORI Gaming Headset. If we did have to bring up a flaw, it would probably be that we feel that this headset is a bit on the bulkier side of things.
- A surprisingly durable headset.
- Good sound quality.
- Fairly comfortable to wear.
- Extremely good price to value ratio.
- Quite bulky for a headset.
When it comes to gaming headsets, there are two essential criteria that you should be on the lookout for, sound quality, and comfort.
Sound quality is obviously self-explanatory. You want your headset to sound good, so that you can appreciate the audio quality of your games. A good gaming headset will come in handy for both single player and multiplayer games.
In single player games, the headset helps to amplify audio and create a more atmospheric experience. In multiplayer games, it helps to give you a competitive edge.
The other thing is comfort. You really want a comfortable gaming headset that is going to remain comfortably on your head through long gaming sessions.
